Building Safer, More Compliant  Workplaces

Fume Extraction

We offer comprehensive, bespoke, cost-effective, and legally compliant  solutions for removing hazardous and disease-causing fumes from the work environment.

Fume Extraction Systems for Labs & Industry

Hazardous fumes are often generated by welding, pharmaceutical, and other industrial activities, exposing your company to numerous problems. The less protected your workers are from these fumes, the more likely it is you’ll face increased medical costs and legal action.

With our custom-designed systems, you can rest assured that any hazardous dust, gases, and other air contaminants are effectively and efficiently extracted from your work site, in compliance with the latest industry and legal standards.

Our cutting-edge extraction systems process fumes and other harmful airborne materials like so:

  1. Fumes and other airborne contaminants get sucked into our “first-contact” extraction units, which may consist of any combination of the following:
    • Fume Cupboards and Fume Extraction Canopies: Stationary systems that capture fumes or harmful dust at specific points within factories or laboratories.
    • Nederman Extraction Arms: Air purification systems similar in function to cupboards or canopies, but can be easily repositioned to different areas where dust or fumes may originate.
  2. Once sucked in, contaminated air passes through our system of ducts, fans, and filters for purification.
  3. Finally, our equipment expels the purified air through an exhaust system.

Ventxlabs System Features and Benefits

With Ventxlabs, you won’t need to spend valuable time searching for the most suitable and cost-effective fume extraction solutions for your company.

We design, customise, install, and maintain the following systems to ensure you get the best performance while staying within budget:

Fume Cupboard Installation

Fume Cupboards

These relatively immovable systems provide academic researchers and industrial scientists a designated and semi-isolated workspace to safely handle hazardous materials. Our cupboards have been used by top-notch schools, universities, colleges, science parks, and pharmaceutical / bio research labs.

VAV Extract

Variable Air Volume (VAV) Units

Conventional fume cupboards suck out a constant amount of air, whether or not workers use them. With our VAV systems installed, your fume cupboard reduces airflow when not in use, reducing energy consumption and helping your company achieve its carbon emission targets. We can supply new VAV units or retrofit your existing cupboard, depending on your preference.

Fume Extract Canopy

Fume Extract Canopies

Resembling giant vacuum cleaner heads, these systems extract massive amounts of steam, heat, and chemical fumes upward from production areas to roof-installed exhaust systems. They are ideal for maintaining air quality in places like welding sites, battery factories, and food production facilities.

Extract Arm

Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Systems

Welders and other factory workers need highly portable fume extraction systems that balance freedom of movement with maximum protection. This is where our Nederman Extraction Arms come in. You can move these LEV systems quickly to different areas of your production site, extracting hazardous dust or fumes away from your workers.

Total Ductwork Package

Total Ductwork Package

Ducts are the conduits that move air contaminants and purified air to their proper places to ensure optimal worker comfort and safety. You have a choice of materials to match your ductwork requirement, including uPVC, standard polypropylene, and fire-retardant polypropylene. Whatever material you choose for your ducts, we can properly integrate your ductwork with your fume extraction systems, along with related elements such as heaters, air conditioners, and thermostats.

Maintenance and Compliance

We continue to support you even after your fume extraction systems and ductwork have been installed.

Whether your fume extraction systems are installed by us or another company, we can inspect and maintain them to ensure continued compliance with the leading British and European standards, including BS EN 14175 and DW/154.

Extract System Ductwork

With our drive to maintain BS EN 14175 compliance, you can rest assured your fume cupboards are rigorously tested at least once every 14 months for safety, performance, and alignment with UK-based COSHH regulations.

We also ensure your ductwork safely conducts hazardous air contaminants out of your work site, in accordance with the high standards of DW/154. Specifically, we check if:

  • All your ductwork is manufactured from grey rigid ventilation tube
  • All site joints are fully welded for integrity
  • Ductwork is sized to keep induct air velocities below 7m/sec to guarantee low noise levels
