Making Workshops Welder-Friendly

Welding Extract Systems for Industrial Safety and Productivity

Healthy welders boost your company’s profits and reduce your exposure to legal penalties. Protect your workers from disease-causing welding fumes and maintain a happy workplace by choosing our cutting-edge welding extract systems.

Welding Fume Extraction Technology

Welding fumes can expose workers to a variety of health conditions that affect organs such as lungs and nerves.

And if the UK Health and Safety Executive discovers you did not set up the right systems to minimise welder fumes, you may be liable for violations of relevant regulations such as COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).

At Ventxlabs, we design, customise, install, and maintain welding extract systems that are as cutting-edge as they are legally compliant. Our extraction units can capture hazardous welding fumes at source, minimising the spread of contaminated air in your workshop or factory.

  1. Welding fumes and dust are drawn into our Nederman Extraction Arms. We install these units so they can be easily extended and repositioned near any welder, quickly capturing airborne contaminants and preventing their spread throughout your facility.
  2. The captured fumes and dust pass through a series of ducts, fans, and filters for purification.
  3. Purified air comes out the exhaust stack of our welding extract systems.

The Benefits of Welding Extract Systems

Welding-fume extractors yield multiple positive outcomes that go beyond worker health and well-being. By investing in and maintaining these systems, you can enjoy the following advantages:

  • Less Exposure to Legal Action
  • Boosted Output
  • Attraction and Retention of Top Talent

Less Exposure to Legal Action

Whether you are managing a factory in Britain or operating a workshop in Europe, chances are you will be subject to regulations that aim to minimise worker exposure to welding fumes.

Investing in welding extract systems ensures your company is aligned with relevant laws in your area of operations, protecting your business from heavy fines and lawsuits

Boosted Output

Did you know welding fumes can damage industrial equipment?

Fumes from welding can settle on equipment surfaces, potentially causing corrosion or starting fires. These risks can be costly, especially if you are running a large-scale engineering or manufacturing company.

With fume extractors, you can prolong the usable life of your machines and tools. Consequently, you can minimise repair costs and downtime, enhancing your production capacity and profitability.

Attraction and Retention of Top Talent

If you install welding extract systems in your workshop, that signals potential employees that you care about worker well-being. As a result, your company is more likely to attract talented candidates.

And given that clean air results in fewer health-related disruptions, employee morale will be boosted, fostering a positive workplace culture. In turn, your workers are less likely to leave.

You cannot overestimate the value of attracting and retaining top talent, especially during times of recession and tightness in the labour market.

Installation and Maintenance

At Ventxlabs, you do not have to hop from one provider to another to find a complete solution to your welding fume problems.

Our two-pronged approach to providing comprehensive air-quality solutions ensures your long-term success and legal compliance.

Installation

Whether you’re starting from scratch or already have fume extraction systems in place, we can install the necessary units or components so that you comply with the latest industry and regulatory standards.

We can install or retrofit the following types of equipment to ensure your worksite is as fume-free as possible:

Extract Arm

Local Exhaust Ventilation

Maintenance

You can rely on our responsive and certified engineers to ensure your long-term legal compliance and operational success.

Through regular inspection and maintenance work, we assess if your fume extraction arms are in good working order. Specifically, we test whether your extraction arms meet the following industry benchmarks:

  • Volume of air extracted: 1,000 m³/h
  • Vacuum suction: Negative pressure below 5,000 Pa
  • Fume extraction rate: 70%

Aside from testing and maintaining your extraction arms, we also check the system of ducts connected to them. Our engineers make sure your ductwork safely expels air contaminants, in accordance with the COSHH-aligned standards of DW/154. Specifically, we check if:

  • All your ductwork is manufactured from grey rigid-ventilation tube
  • All site joints are fully welded for integrity
  • Ducts are sized to keep induct air velocities below 7m/sec to ensure low noise levels
